Modify Color Scheme Using Photoshop

I'm not an expert in Photoshop, I am not even an artist. I had just learned this from a former classmate in masteral. I asked for his help when I needed to modify a color scheme of my header from brown to dark pink.

To give you a vivid idea, I wanted to replace this header:

header 1

with this one:

header 2

but I want to retain the color scheme of the first. How did I do that? With Garry's help, I had transformed the above image into:

header 3

Did you find it interesting? Here's what you have to do:

  1. Open header 1 and header 2 in Adobe Photoshop
  2. Have header 2 as the activated image. Click on Image -> Mode -> Grayscale
  3. Now, your picture should look like this:
  4. Click on Image -> Mode -> Duotone..
  5. Duotone Options window will pop up. From the Type, select one from the drop down list. For me, I selected Quadtone.
  6. Select colors for the Ink by clicking on the second square. A Color Picker window should appear.
  7. Select your colors from header 1 by clicking on the desired hue until you had blended your desired color.
  8. Click OK from the Duotone Options.
  9. Click Image -> Mode -> RGB. This will enable you to save your work.
  10. Then, save your work as JPEG.
Simple and easy right? Hope that helps.
